OpenArm KER adopts a joint structure that matches OpenArm 2, with link lengths scaled to 70%. This enables high-precision 1:1 motion mapping without requiring coordinate transformation or retargeting.
Lightweight Wearable Design
OpenArm KER weighs only 1.7 kg, combining lightweight CFRP tubes, machined aluminum components, and resin parts. The backpack-style shoulder-mounted design can be attached in approximately 30 seconds and fits a wide range of body types.
Foldable for Easy Transport
The backpack section folds into a compact form, allowing OpenArm KER to be stored and transported in a standard travel case.
Integrated Encoder Module
Each joint uses a standardized encoder module integrating:
- Magnetic encoder
- Precision bearings
- Hardware limit
- Driver electronics
The modular design supports reliable operation while allowing flexible integration into different systems.
Daisy-Chain Communication
Each encoder module supports daisy-chain communication with individually assigned IDs, enabling multi-DOF systems to be connected with minimal wiring.
